Diesel Fuel System Preliminary Tests

NOTE:

The fuel system is highly sensitive.

NOTE:

All work must be carried out with great cleanliness and care.

NOTE:

Any air in the system can damage the high pressure fuel pump. Therefore, the vehicle must never be operated with the fuel tank empty.

CHECK TO BE MADE RESOLUTION
Verify that the tank contains the right type of fuel. Drain and properly dispose of fuel tank contents and clean the fuel tank.
There must be greater than 5 liters of fuel in the tank. Add the necessary amount of fuel.
Check for leaks in the fuel supply:
Check hoses and tubes connected to detect any obstruction, damage, etc.;
Check that there are no points of failure / scratches on the fuel lines or fuel injection;
Check connections of fuel lines (quick connectors);
Check the status of the fasteners.
Verify that the connections and seals are fitted correctly.
Check there is no obstructions, leaks, air or water in the fuel system.
Repair or replace components as necessary.
Verify the tightening torque of the countersunk screws Properly tighten the components
Check the fuel filter. Replace the fuel filter. Refer to FILTER, FUEL, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION  .
