1.6L - 2.0L Diesel

REMOVAL 

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

  3. Remove the bolts (1) and the fuel tank shield (2).

  4. Disconnect the Particulate Matter (PM) sensor module wire harness connector (1).

  5. Remove the nuts (2) securing the PM sensor module (1).
  6. Detach the wiring from the retaining clips.

  7. Remove the PM sensor (1) from the Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR).

INSTALLATION

  1. Install the Particulate Matter (PM) sensor (1) and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. Attach the wire harness to the retainers.

  3. Install the PM sensor module (1) and tighten the nuts (2) to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .

  4. Connect the PM sensor wire harness connector (2).

  5. Install the fuel tank shield (2) and tighten the bolts (1) to the proper specification. Refer to the appropriate Service Information .
  6. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
  7. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
