Diagnostic Verification Test
DIAGNOSTIC VERIFICATION TEST
Follow the ignition off warning, due to any special tools or body harness connectors that may need to be reconnected reintroducing voltage to a wire harness and component area.
Turn the ignition off, disconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
- VERIFICATION TEST
- Remove any special tools or jumper wires and reconnect all previously disconnected components - except the battery.
- If equipped with the standard key ignition, use this ignition on warning.WARNING:
Turn the ignition on, then reconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
- If equipped with the keyless ignition, use this ignition on warning.WARNING:
Disconnect the 12-volt battery wait two minutes before proceeding, remove the OCM fuses, connect the 12-volt battery, wait two minutes before proceeding. Cycle the ignition to the On position, then reconnect the OCM fuses. Wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
- Connect the scan tool to the Data Link Connector - use the most current software available.
- With the scan tool erase stored DTCs in the Restraint System or whichever subsystem DTCs set.
- Turn the ignition off, and wait 15 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
- Wait one minute, using the scan tool read active subsystem DTCs and if there are none present read the stored codes.
- If the scan tool shows any active or stored codes, follow path specified for that trouble code. If no active or stored codes are present, the repair is complete.
Are any DTCs present or is the original condition still present?
Yes
- Repair is not complete or whichever subsystem DTC or DTCs set and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX .
No
