Coil, Ignition: Installation: 6.2L

CAUTION:

Do not apply a silicone based grease such as Mopar® Dielectric Grease to the ignition coil rubber boot. The silicone based grease will absorb into the boot causing it to stick and tear.

  1. Place a small, 360° bead of Uniflor 8172  lubricant (1) along the inside opening of the coil boot approximately 1 to 2 mm from the chamfer edge but not on the chamfered surface.

  2. Install the ignition coil into cylinder head and push both spark plug boots onto each spark plug.
    NOTE:

    It will be necessary to carefully reposition the A/C Lines for clearance, if installing the left side coils.

  3. Install the two coil mounting bolts (1) and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  4. Connect the ignition coil wire harness connector (2) to the coil and lock the connector.
  5. The following is necessary only if the right side ignition coils were removed.
    • Install the Power Distribution Center (PDC) onto the mounting bracket and securely fasten the wire harness.
    • Install the coolant tube retainer.
    • Install the supercharger coolant bottle reservoir onto the mounting bracket. Refer to RESERVOIR, COOLANT, INSTALLATION .
  6. The following is necessary only if the left side ignition coils were removed.

  7. Install the engine cover(s) (1).
  8. Connect the negative battery cable.
