Rear Outboard

WARNING:

To avoid serious or fatal injury during and following any seat belt or child restraint anchor service, carefully inspect all seat belts, buckles, mounting hardware, retractors, tether straps, and anchors for proper installation, operation, or damage. Replace any belt that is cut, frayed, or torn. Straighten any belt that is twisted. Tighten any loose fasteners. Replace any belt that has a damaged or ineffective buckle or retractor. Replace any belt that has a bent or damaged latch plate or anchor plate. Replace any child restraint anchor or the unit to which the anchor is integral that has been bent or damaged. Never attempt to repair a seat belt or child restraint component. Always replace damaged or ineffective seat belt and child restraint components with the correct, new and unused replacement parts listed in the Mopar® Parts Catalog. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

  1. Position the rear outboard seat belt and retractor unit (7) to the inner C-pillar (1). Be certain to engage the retractor bracket tab into the keyed slot in the inner C-pillar.
  2. Install the bolt (5) that secures the retractor bracket to the inner C-pillar. Tighten the bolt to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  3. Position the seat belt turning loop to the upper inner C-pillar. Be certain the seat belt webbing (6) is not twisted between the retractor and the turning loop.
  4. Install the bolt (2) that secures the seat belt turning loop to the inside of the upper C-pillar. Tighten the bolt to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  5. Feed the seat belt lower anchor, the latch plate, the seat belt opening bezel (4) and the belt webbing (6) through the upper quarter trim panel (3) belt opening. Be certain the seat belt webbing is not twisted between the turning loop and the upper quarter trim panel belt opening.
  6. Snap the C-pillar belt opening bezel into the upper quarter trim panel.
  7. Install the upper quarter trim panel to the upper C-pillar. Refer to PANEL, QUARTER TRIM, INSTALLATION .

  8. Position the rear outboard seat belt lower anchor to the stud (2) at the base of the C-pillar (4). Be certain the seat belt webbing (1) is not twisted between the upper C-pillar belt opening bezel and the lower anchor.
  9. Install the captive nut (3) that secures the rear outboard seat belt lower anchor to the stud at the base of the C-pillar. Tighten the nut to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  10. Slide the lower anchor cover (5) down the seat belt webbing and engage it over the lower anchor nut.
  11. For rear adjustable seat, restore the rear seat to its original position. For rear bench seat, install rear bench seat. Refer to SEAT, REAR, INSTALLATION .
