Solenoid, Variable Valve Timing: Installation

  1. Install a NEW  gasket (1).

  2. Install the Variable Valve Timing (VVT) solenoid (1) and tighten the bolts (2) to the proper torque specification. Refer to (TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS ).

  3. If removed, install the right isolator to engine mount bracket bolt (2) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to (TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS ).

  4. Connect the VVT solenoid wire harness connector (1).
  5. Install the clean air hose and air cleaner body cover. Refer to INSTALLATION .
  6. Install the top engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, INSTALLATION .
  7. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector to the negative battery cable.
