Plug, Ring Gear Shaft: Installation

  1. Using the clean lint free cloth, wipe the circumference of the plug hole free of debris and oil.
  2. Place a NEW  plug (1) into the hole in the PTU.

  3. Using tool (special tool #6342, Installer, Seal), drive the new plug into the hole in the PTU until the lip of the plug is flush against the outer surface of the PTU.
  4. Install the PTU in the vehicle. Refer to INSTALLATION .
  5. Verify that the PTU fluid is at the specified level. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  6. Road test the vehicle to verify the repair.
