Removal And Installation: Removal

NOTE:

LHD shown, RHD similar.

CAUTION:

The battery terminals must only be disconnected with the ignition key at STOP or extracted, never with the key at RUN or with engine started. The battery terminals must only be disconnected at least 1 minute after turning the ignition key to STOP.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.

  2. Press the retaining tabs (1) for the cover to remove it.

  3. Remove the nut (1) and disconnect the electrical connection from the power supply box.
  4. Loosen the positive terminal nut (2).

  5. Remove the screws (1) and remove the plate.
    NOTE:

    BUX vehicle shown in illustration, NAFTA similar. The NAFTA market does not  use a second nut (2) on the 150 Amp fuse.

  6. Remove the nut (1) and move the bracket with retaining belt.
  7. Remove the battery.
