Removal And Installation: 2.4L: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  3. Unlock and disconnect the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor wire harness connector (2).
  4. Remove the CKP sensor mounting bolt (3).
  5. Carefully twist and pull the sensor (1) from the cylinder block.

  6. The CKP sensor O-ring (1) can be reused if not damaged.
