Description And Operation: 1.4L: Description
The T-map sensor integrates:
- An NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) sensor to measure the temperature of the intake air.
- A pressure sensor, comprising a Wheatstone bridge screen-printed onto a ceramic membrane.
The aspirated air temperature and pressure sensor is used by the Powertrain Control Module ECM to:
- Calculate the pressure in the intake manifold downstream of the throttle.
- Calculate the temperature of the air in the intake manifold downstream of the throttle.
This information is used by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to define the quantity of air aspirated by the engine; this value is then used to calculate the injection time and ignition point.
