Diagnostic Test
- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC NOTE:
This fault indicates that the Speed Control Switch is stuck in a pressed state for two minutes.
- Cycle the ignition off, and back on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Is the DTC still active after cycling the ignition off and on?
Yes
- Replace the Speed Control Switch Assembly in accordance with the Service Information. Test drive the vehicle and operate the Set (+) and Resume buttons functions of the speed control system to verify repair.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 2
- CHECK THE SPEED CONTROL SWITCH OPERATION
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Press and release the ON/OFF button. Monitor the scan tool for a minimum of two minutes for the DTC to return before continuing.
- Press and release the CANCEL button. Monitor the scan tool for a minimum of two minutes for the DTC to return before continuing.
- Press and release the SET - button. Monitor the scan tool for a minimum of two minutes for the DTC to return before continuing.
- Press and release the SET + button. Monitor the scan tool for a minimum of two minutes for the DTC to return before continuing.
- Press and release the RESUME button. Monitor the scan tool for a minimum of two minutes for the DTC to return before continuing.
Did the DTC return after any of the button presses?
Yes
- Replace the Speed Control Switch Assembly in accordance with the Service Information. Test drive the vehicle and operate the Set (+) and Resume buttons functions of the speed control system to verify repair.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
