Removal And Installation: Installation

  1. Position the steering column (3) in the vehicle.
  2. Install the two front steering column support bolts (2) and tighten them to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Install the two rear steering column support nuts (1) and tighten them to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .

  4. Install the intermediate shaft (2) to the steering gear.
  5. Install a NEW  intermediate shaft pinch bolt (1) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  6. Install the Steering Column Control Module (SCCM). Refer to MODULE, STEERING COLUMN CONTROL (SCCM), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  7. Install the steering column opening cover. Refer to COVER, STEERING COLUMN OPENING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  8. Install the steering wheel. Refer to WHEEL, STEERING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
