Removal And Installation: Installation

WARNING:

Do not remove the strut rod nut before the coil spring is properly compressed. The coil spring is held under pressure. The coil spring must be compressed, removing spring tension from the upper mount and bearing, before the strut rod nut is removed.

  1. If necessary install the spring. Refer to SPRING, FRONT COIL, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  2. Position the strut into the strut tower, install and tighten the three strut upper mount bolts (1) to the proper torque specification. Refer to FRONT, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .

  3. Install the strut lower bolts (4), and tighten the bolts to the proper torque specification. Refer to FRONT, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Install the wheel speed sensor (2) to the strut.
  5. Install the brake hose (3) and the retaining clip.
  6. Install the stabilizer bar link and the stabilizer bar link nut (1), tighten the stabilizer bar link nut (1) to the proper torque specification. Refer to FRONT, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  7. Install the front wiper cowl. Refer to COVER, COWL PANEL, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  8. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  9. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
  10. Perform a front end alignment. Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
