Fluid Fill

The Power Transfer Unit (PTU) oil is fill for life and does not require a scheduled maintenance service.

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
2. Remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

3. Remove the PTU oil fill plug (1) and check the oil level is just below the bottom edge of the fill hole.
4. If necessary fill the PTU to the bottom of the fill plug hole using the specified fluid. Refer to CAPACITIES AND RECOMMENDED FLUIDS, SPECIFICATIONS .
5. Clean and tighten the PTU fill plug to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
6. Install the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
7. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
