Tank, Fuel: Installation
- If removed, position the heat shield and install the push pin retainers (1).
- If removed, install the auxiliary fuel pump module. Refer to MODULE, FUEL PUMP, INSTALLATION .
- If removed, install the main fuel pump module. Refer to MODULE, FUEL PUMP, INSTALLATION .NOTE:
If equipped with skid plates, install the skid plates, fuel tank, and support straps as an assembly.
- Using a suitable hydraulic jack (1) and a fuel tank adapter (2), position the fuel tank, support straps and if equipped, skid plates.
- Install the fuel tank support strap retaining bolts (1) and tighten to 55 N. m (41 ft. lbs.).
- Remove the hydraulic jack and the fuel tank adapter.
- Connect the fuel supply line quick-connect fitting (2).
- If equipped, position the left side body skid plate and install retainers (1).
- Connect the fuel pump module wire harness connector (2) retaining tab onto the rear crossmember.
- Connect the fuel pump module wire harness connector (1).
- Install the driveshaft assembly. Refer to SHAFT, DRIVE, REAR, INSTALLATION
.
- If equipped, connect the On-Board Refueling Vapor Recovery (ORVR) vacuum line quick-connect fitting (2).
- If equipped, connect the ORVR vapor line quick-connect fitting (1).
- Install the muffler. Refer to MUFFLER, EXHAUST, INSTALLATION .
- Connect the EVAP purge line quick-connect fitting.
- Position the fuel filler hose (2) and install the hose clamps (1) and tighten to 3 N. m (30 in. lbs.).
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Fill the fuel tank.
- Start the engine and check for leaks.
