Servicing Injectors

• Use extreme care the removal and installation of injectors.
• Cleanliness in the work area, on the cylinder head, around the injector, and tools is very important. It is absolutely necessary to avoid any contamination of the injector opening with dust particles or lubricant fluids.
• Also when using installation aids, observe absolute cleanliness. Containers for assembly materials must be kept clean.
• Use only lint-free cleaning cloths.
• Remove protective caps by hand only shortly before installation.
• Outer O-ring seal should be lubricated with (assembly oil, engine oil, or diesel fuel).
• To prevent corrosion on the injector body and on the cylinder head, grease the nozzle nut and the injector body up to the fitting area of the body.
• Any lubricant that contains water should not be used.
