Sensor, Camshaft Position: Installation: 6.2L
CAUTION:
Before tightening the sensor mounting bolt, be sure the sensor is completely flush to the timing cover. If the sensor is not flush, damage to the sensor mounting tang may result.
- Check the condition of the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor O-ring seal.
- Install the CMP sensor (2) into the timing cover.
- Tighten the retaining bolt (3) to the proper specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect the CMP sensor wire harness connector (1).
- Connect the negative battery cable.
NOTE:
The Cam/Crank Variation Relearn procedure must be performed using the scan tool anytime there has been a repair/replacement made to a powertrain system, for example: flywheel, valvetrain, camshaft and/or crankshaft sensors or components.
