3.0L Diesel
- Clean and inspect the threads in the cylinder block and heater element.
- Coat the heater element threads with Loctite® 572 thread sealer.
- Install the engine block heater (1) into the engine block and tighten to 40 N.m (30 ft. lbs.).
- Connect the block heater power cord (3).
- Fill the cooling system with the recommended coolant. Refer to COOLANT SYSTEM AIR EVACUATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Start and warm the engine.
- Check the block heater for leaks.
