Removal And Installation: Installation

  1. Position and install the camshaft position sensor into place, then install and tighten the nut to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  2. Connect the camshaft position sensor electrical connector.
  3. Position the heat shield, then install and tighten the nut to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  4. Install the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
  6. When replacing the camshaft position sensor, connect the diagnostic scan tool, enter "Active Diagnosis" and run the self-learning procedure.
