Removal And Installation: Installation

  1. Position the knock sensor, then install and tighten the NEW  fastener to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  2. Connect the knock sensor wire harness connector.
  3. Position the lower heat shield of the exhaust manifold, then install and securely tighten the fasteners.
  4. Position the upper heat shield of the exhaust manifold, then install and securely tighten the fasteners.
  5. Position the wire harness bracket for the upstream oxygen sensor, then install and securely tighten the nut. Engage the wire harness in the retaining clips.
  6. Connect the wire harness connector for the upstream oxygen sensor.
  7. Install the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  8. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
  9. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
