Malfunction Indicator Light: Notes

A Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) informs the driver of system problems. MIL is located in center of instrument cluster (models with tachometer) or right side of instrument cluster (models without tachometer), under engine symbol marked CHECK.

MIL will come on as a bulb check when ignition switch is in ON position and engine is not running. MIL should go out when engine starts. When MIL remains on or flashes with the engine running, the self-diagnostic system has detected a problem.
