Throttle Position (TP) Sensor

NOTE: For information on connector terminal identification and test conditions specified in the following tables, see ON-VEHICLE ADJUSTMENTS article.
TP SENSOR CONTINUITY SPECIFICATIONS (SEPHIA)

Test Condition (1) Resistance (k/ohms)
Throttle Closed 1.6-2.4
Throttle Open (2)
(1) Measure resistance between TP sensor terminal No. 2 (Blue/White wire) and No. 3 (Blue/Orange wire).
(2) Resistance should increase linearly as throttle opens.
TP SENSOR VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONS (SEPHIA)

Condition (1) (2) Volts
Throttle Closed .4-.6
Wide Open Throttle 4.1-4.3
(1) Also ensure voltage change is smooth between closed and open throttle.
(2) Measure voltage between TP sensor terminals No. 1 (Black/Green wire) and No. 3 (Blue/Orange wire) with ignition on and TP sensor connected.
TP SENSOR RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS (SPORTAGE)

Condition Resistance (k/ohms)(1)
Throttle Fully Closed About 1
Throttle Fully Open About 2.4
(1) Measure resistance between TP sensor terminals No. 1 (Green/Yellow wire) and No. 3 (Yellow/Black wire).
