Fuel Injector Inspection

  1. Warm up engine and let idle. Using screwdriver or stethoscope, listen to each injector. Clicking should be heard.
  2. If no sound is heard, measure resistance of each injector. Resistance should be 14.5 ohms at 68°F (20°C) for Sephia, or 12-16 ohms at 68°F (20°C) for Sportage. Replace injectors that do not meet specification.
  3. If injectors are okay, check wiring to injectors. Check voltages at Engine Control Module (ECM) terminals No. 3, 4, 31 and 32.
