Service Precautions

Disconnect negative battery cable for 10 minutes before servicing. To ensure complete discharge, turn headlights on. Observe precautions as follows:

• Always wear protective gloves when handling deployed or damaged air bag modules.
• Never service wiring or electrical components with air bag connected.
• DO NOT allow steering shaft to rotate freely during servicing.
• Always wear safety glasses when handling air bag modules.
