Fuel Injector Inspection

  1. Warm up engine and let idle. Using screwdriver or stethoscope, listen to each injector. Clicking should be heard. If no sound is heard, measure resistance of each injector. See INJECTOR RESISTANCE  table. Replace injectors that do not meet specification. If injectors are okay, and no operational sound is heard. go to next step.
  2. Check wiring to injectors. Ensure electrical connectors fit tightly and are not corroded. For circuit testing, see WIRING DIAGRAMS article and appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article.

Application (1) Ohms
Optima & Magentis (Canadian) 13-16
Rio 13.5-15.5
Sephia & Spectra 14.5
Sportage 13.5-14.1
(1) With temperature at 68°F (20°C).
