Ignition Switch: Testing and Inspection

CHECK IGNITION LOCK SWITCH
Remove the ignition lock switch and check continuity between the terminals. If the continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.

1. Because of the location of the connector, there is no way to check the continuity between the connector terminals with the ignition switch installed. The ignition switch must be removed.
2. Inspect the switch continuity between the terminals.

3. If continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.

HINTS: If engine won't crank, determine whether the condition exists with the transaxle range switch in the "PARK" or in the "NEUTRAL" position.

If the "NO-CRANK" condition occurs in one shift lever position but not other, a more probable cause is the transaxle range switch.
