Removal & Installation: Installation
- Install steering column in vehicle.
- Tighten two lower column bracket nuts.
- Tighten upper column bracket bolt.
Tightening torque:
- Nut: 12-17 lb.ft (16-23 N.m, 1.6-2.3 kg.m)
- Bolt: 12-17 lb.ft (16-23 N.m, 1.6-2.3 kg.m)
- Tighten two universal joint pinch bolts.
Tightening torque: 13-20 lb.ft (18-26 N.m, 1.8-2.7 kg.m)
- Install ignition switch.
- Connect ignition switch electrical connector.
- Connect combination switch electrical connectors.
- Install combination switch to steering column shaft.
- Install upper and lower steering column panels.
- Tighten three lower steering column panel screws.
- Connect connectors and install clock spring to steering column shaft. See CLOCKSPRING article.
- Properly install steering wheel to steering shaft.
- Install snap ring, and install retaining nut and tighten.
Tightening torque: 29-36 lb.ft (39-49 N.m, 4-5 kg.m)
- Connect horn switch electrical connector.
- Install driver's air bag module and tighten four bolts. See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE .
- Connect (-) terminal of battery.
