Transaxle Range Switch (A/T Models)

NOTE: Verify that the starter operates only with ignition switch in START position and selector lever in "P" or "N" position. The back-up lights illuminate when shifted to "R" position with ignition switch in ON position.
NOTE: Verify that the position of selector lever and shift pattern indicator of instrument cluster correspond. If not as specified, check the transaxle range switch.
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect transaxle range switch connector. See Fig 1 .
  3. Check for continuity at transaxle range switch as illustrated. See Fig 2 .
  4. If not as specified, replace or adjust transaxle range switch.
  5. Connect transaxle range switch connector.
  6. Connect negative battery cable.
