Readiness Drive Cycle

NOTE: Perform Readiness Drive Cycle when directed to from diagnostic tests. Readiness drive cycle provides conditions for EVAP monitor to run, so that repairs for DTC P0440 or DTC P0442 may be verified.

Before running Readiness Drive Cycle:

Vehicle must have been out of direct sunlight for a minimum of 30 minutes.
ECT must be below 150° F (66° C).
Put vehicle on lift with wheels a minimum of 4" off the ground.

Connect Kia Data Pro scan tool to OBD-II connector. Turn ignition on. Turn scan tool on and go to readiness test screen. To run test:

Start vehicle and idle in park for minimum 5 minutes.
Put vehicle in gear and accelerate to 50-65 MPH.
With automatic transmission in overdrive, hold speed at steady 50-65 MPH for 3 minutes.
Decelerate to 35-45 MPH.
Hold speed at steady 35-45 MPH for 4 minutes. (Do NOT downshift.)
Decelerate to idle.
Apply brakes and put into park and let idle for one minute.
Increase engine to about 3000 RPM for 5 seconds.
Let engine idle until EVAP test shows complete.

After scan tool shows EVAP test is complete, go to non-continuous tests screen and verify EVAP test has passed.
