Fuel Tank: Removal

  1. Open the service cover in trunk room.

  2. Reduce the internal pressure of the fuel lines and hoses:
    1. Disconnect the fuel pump harness connector.
    2. Start the engine and wait until fuel in fuel line is exhausted. After the engine stalls, turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
    3. Disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.
  3. Disconnect the fuel feed hose and the fuel return hose.

  4. Lift the vehicle.
  5. Remove the main muffler.
  6. Remove the fuel tank cover.
  7. Remove the fuel filler hose, the fuel hose (connecting the fuel tank with the canister) and the fuel leveling hose.
  8. Unfasten the fuel tank band mounting-bolt and remove the fuel tank.
