Signal Circuit Inspection

Ignition "OFF"
Disconnect ECM connector.
Cranking the engine and measure voltage between 30 of the ECM harness connector and chassis ground.
1. Specification: Approx. B+ (A/T), Approx. 0V (M/T) at cranking

Is voltage within the specification?
YES
1. Check for poor connection between ECM and component: backed out terminal, improper mating, broken locks or poor terminal to wire connection. Repair as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO
1. Repair open or short in harness and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
