Charging Systems: Generator: Replacement
- Disconnect the battery negative terminal first, then the positive terminal.
- Temporarily loosen the water pump pulley bolts.

- Remove the generator drive belt(A), after loosening the adjusting bolt and mounting bolt. (Refer to step 9)
- Remove the power steering pump belt(B). (Refer to MECHANICAL POWER STEERING SYSTEM
)

- Remove the water pump pulley.
- Remove the power steering pump. (Refer to MECHANICAL POWER STEERING SYSTEM
- power steering pump)
- Remove the power steering pump bracket.
- Disconnect the generator connector (A), and remove the cable (B) from generator "B" terminal.

- Remove the adjusting bolt (A) and mounting bolt (B).
- Remove the generator brace(C).
- Pull out the through bolt (D) and then remove the generator (E).

- Installation is the reverse order of removal.
- Pretighten the water pump pulley bolts.
- Adjust the power steering pump belt tension. (Refer to MECHANICAL POWER STEERING SYSTEM
)
- Adjust the generator belt tension after installation. (Refer to INSPECTION
)
- Tighten the water pump pulley bolts.
