Oil Temperature Sensor For ECM: Testing and Inspection

INSPECTION

The CVVT Oil Temperature Sensor (OTS) is a negative coefficient thermistor used by the PCM to measure engine oil temperature for the purpose of adjusting CVVT calculations.

CIRCUIT DIAGRAM





COMPONENT INSPECTION
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect OTS connector.
3. Remove the OTS.
4. After immersing the thermistor of the sensor into water measure resistance between OTS terminals 1 and 2.
5. Check that the resistance is within the specification.
