Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Remove the following items.
    1. Engine cover (A). Refer to INTAKE AND EXHAUST SYSTEM .
    2. Battery and tray (B). Refer to BATTERY .
    3. Air cleaner assembly (C). Refer to INTAKE AND EXHAUST SYSTEM .

  2. Remove the ground line after removing the bolt (A).

  3. Remove the shift cable (C) after removing the nut (A) and the bolt (B).

    Tightening torque: 

    1. 8.8 ~ 13.7 N.m (0.9 ~ 1.4 kgf.m, 6.5 ~ 10.1 lb-ft)
    2. 17.7 ~ 24.5 N.m (1.8 ~ 2.5 kgf.m, 13.0 ~ 18.1 lb-ft)

  4. Disconnect the solenoid valve connector (B) and inhibitor switch connector (A).

  5. Remove the CKP sensor (A).

  6. Disconnect the hose (B) after removing the automatic transaxle fluid cooler hose clamp (A).

  7. Remove the wiring bracket installation bolt (A).

  8. Remove the automatic transaxle upper mounting bolt (A, B).

    Tightening torque: 

    1. 63.7 ~ 83.4 N.m (6.5 ~ 8.5 kgf.m, 47.0 ~ 61.5 lb-ft)
    2. 32.4 ~ 49.0 N.m (3.3 ~ 5.0 kgf.m, 23.9 ~ 36.2 lb-ft)

  9. Using the SST(09200-38001), hold the engine and transaxle assembly safely.

  10. Remove the automatic transaxle mounting support bracket bolt (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    88.3 ~ 107.9 N.m (9.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 65.1 ~79.6 lb-ft)

  11. Remove the under cover (A).

    Under cover installation bolt: 

    9.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (1.0 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8.7 lb-ft)

  12. Remove the following items;
    1. Front wheels. Refer to TIRES/WHEELS .
    2. Sub frame assembly. Refer to FRONT SUSPENSION SYSTEM .
    3. Drive shaft assembly from the automatic transaxle system. Refer to DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY .
    4. Front muffler assembly. Refer to EXHAUST MANIFOLD .
  13. Remove the side cover (A).

  14. Remove the dust cover. (A)

  15. Remove the torque converter mounting bolt (A) (6 ea.) with rotating the crankshaft.

    Tightening torque: 

    45.1 ~ 52.0 N.m (4.6 ~ 5.3 kgf.m, 33.3 ~ 38.3 lb-ft)

  16. Remove the bracket (A).

  17. Remove the start motor mounting bolt (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    49.0 ~ 63.7 N.m (5.0 ~ 6.5 Kgf.m, 36.2 ~ 47.0 lb-ft)

  18. Remove the automatic transaxle with a jack after removing the mounting bolt (B-4 ea., C-1 ea.).

Tightening torque: 

(B) 39.2 ~ 46.1 N.m (4.0 ~ 4.7 kgf.m, 28.9 ~ 34.0 lb-ft)

(C) 78.5 ~ 98.1 N.m (8.0~10.0 kgf.m, 57.9 ~ 72.3 lb-ft)
