Repair procedures: Removal

  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-) cable.
  2. Drain the engine coolant (Refer to COOLANT ).
  3. Remove the radiator upper hose (Refer to RADIATOR ).
  4. Disconnect the knock sensor connector (A).

  5. Remove the intake manifold (Refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD ).
  6. Remove the mounting bolt (A), and then remove the sensor from the cylinder block.
