Repair Procedures: Removal

Move the shift lever to "N" range.
Remove the air duct and the air cleaner assembly.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "AIR CLEANER ")
Remove the battery and battery tray.
(Refer to Engine Electrical System - "BATTERY ")
Loosen the nut (A) and then remove the shift cable (B) from the bracket (c).
Tightening Torque:

7.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (0.8 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 ~ 8.7 lb-ft)

Remove the knob & boots (A) by pulling in the direction of arrow after removing the boots from the console upper cover.

Remove the floor console assembly.
(Refer to "FLOOR CONSOLE ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT "
Remove the shift cable (A) from the shift lever.

Remove the cable retainer (A) by loosening the nuts.
Tightening Torque:

7.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (0.8 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 ~ 8.7 lb-ft)

Remove the shift cable by pulling it inward.
