Repair Procedures: Removal

1. Remove the under cover.

   (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ").

2. Drain the coolant.

   (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "COOLANT ")

3. Remove the ATF drain plug (A), allow the fluid to drain out and then reinstall the drain plug.

   Tightening Torque: 

   33.3 ~ 43.1 N.m (3.4 ~ 4.4 kgf.m, 24.6 ~ 31.8 lb-ft)

   NOTE: The existing ATF drain plug gasket must be replaced with new one. (Do not reuse it.)
4. Remove the battery and battery tray.

   (Refer to Engine Electrical System - "BATTERY ")

5. Remove the wiring bracket mounting bolt (A)

   Tightening Torque: 

   9.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (1.0 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8.7 lb-ft)

6. Disconnect the air breather hose (A) from the valve body cover.

7. Disconnect the coolant pipe (B) after removing the clamp (A).

8. Disconnect the ATF cooler hose (B) after removing the clamp (A).

9. Remove the valve body cover (A).

10. Remove the solenoid valve harness (A) and oil temperature sensor (B) after removing the bolts.

    Tightening Torque: 

    9.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (1.0 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8.7 lb-ft)

11. Remove solenoid valve support bracket (A).

    Tightening Torque: 

    9.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (1.0 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8.7 lb-ft)

12. Remove the torque converter control solenoid valve (B) after loosening the bolt (A).

Tightening Torque: 

9.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (1.0 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8.7 lb-ft)
