Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
  2. Remove the battery.

    (Refer to Engine Electrical System -"BATTERY ")

  3. Remove the air cleaner assembly.

    (Engine Mechanical System - "AIR CLEANER ")

  4. Remove the battery tray.

    (Refer to Engine Electrical System -"BATTERY ")

  5. Disconnect the ECM Connector (A).
  6. Remove the ECM bracket assembly (B) after loosening the mounting bolt and nuts,

    ECM bracket mounting bolt/nut: 

    9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb.ft)

  7. Remove the ECM after loosening the mounting nuts (A).
