Repair Procedures: Adjustment

ETC module learning procedure 

Be sure to perform the ETC module learning procedure when replacing or re-installing the ETC module.

  1. Wait for one minute with the ignition switched "ON".
  2. Start and keep the engine idle for 15 minutes.
  3. Wait for one minute with the ignition switched "OFF".
  4. Restart the engine, and check that the idle speed is stable.
    NOTE: If the ETC module learning procedure is not performed after replacing or reinstalling the ETC module, MIL illumination with DTCs may occur.

Auto Detection Reset Procedure 

NOTE: After replacing the ETC module, the "ECM Auto Detection Reset" procedure must be performed.
  1. Switch "OFF" the ignition.
  2. Connect the KDS/GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).
  3. Switch "ON" the ignition.
  4. Select "Vehicle, Model year, Engine, System".
  5. Select "Vehicle S/W Management".
  6. Select "ECM Auto Detection Reset".
