Repair Procedures: Removal
- Release the residual pressure in fuel line.
(Refer to the Fuel Delivery System - "RELEASE RESIDUAL PRESSURE IN FUEL LINE ")
- Switch "OFF" the ignition and disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Remove the rear seat cushion.
(Refer to Body - "REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY ")
- Remove the fuel pump service cover (A) after loosening the mounting screws.
- Disconnect the fuel pump control module connector (A), fuel pressure sensor connector (B) and fuel feed tube quick-connector (C).
- Lift the vehicle.
- Remove the center muffler assembly.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "MUFFLER ")
- Disconnect the fuel filler hose (A).
- Disconnect the vapor tube quick-connector (A) from the canister.
- Disconnect the FTPS extension connector (A).
- Support the fuel tank on a jack (A).
- After loosening the rear side fuel tank band mounting nut (A), remove the fuel tank band (C) from the gap (B) between front side fuel tank and body.
Fuel tank band mounting nut:
39.2 - 53.9 N.m (4.0 - 5.5 kgf.m, 28.9 - 39.8 lb.ft)
- Remove the fuel tank (A).
