Traction Control Disable

WARNING: Placing a non-compatible vehicle on a single-axle dynamometer could result in a safety hazard to technicians and damage to vehicle. Vehicles which use All-Wheel Drive (AWD) or traction control may not be clearly marked. Use common sense and take all necessary precautions when placing any vehicle on the dynamometer. Determine between full-time 4WD and All-Wheel Drive (AWD) for testing purposes. The following tables include information related to full-time 4WD and AWD vehicles, and how to disable the traction control system (if disengageable).

⁽¹⁾	Press TC or TCS button on dash to disable system. The TCS-OFF or TRAC OFF indicator light will illuminate when system is disabled.

⁽²⁾	Press ESC OFF button (for more than 3 seconds), located left of the steering wheel, (on a few models the button is at center of dash) to disable system. The ECS OFF indicator light will illuminate when system is disabled.

⁽³⁾	Vehicle may be equipped with Full-Time 4WD. This can be identified by the type of 4x4 selector (at left end of dash). Full-Time 4WD selector has AUTO and LOW (or LOCK) as available selections. Part-Time 4WD will have 2HI, 4HI, and 4LO.

⁽⁴⁾	Use the 4WD transfer shift knob to shift into 2H (RWD), located left of the steering wheel.

4WD on this vehicle is automatic. In 4WD AUTO mode, the vehicle operates similar to conventional 2WD vehicles under normal operating conditions. However, if the system determines that there is a need for the 4WD mode, the engines driving power is distributed to all four wheels automatically without driver intervention. Permanent 2WD mode is not possible.
