Repair Procedures: Removal

[VIS #1] 

1. Switch "OFF" the ignition and disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
2. Disconnect the variable intake solenoid valve connector (A).
3. Disconnect the vacuum hoses (B) from the valve.
4. Remove the mounting nut (C) and then remove the valve from the surge tank.

   Variable intake solenoid valve mounting nut: 

   7.8 - 11.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 - 8.7 lb.ft)

[VIS #2] 

1. Switch "OFF" the ignition and disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
2. Disconnect the variable intake solenoid valve connector (A).
3. Disconnect the vacuum hoses (B) from the valve.
4. Remove the installation nuts (C) and then remove the valve from the surge tank.

   Variable intake solenoid valve mounting nut: 

   7.8 - 11.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 - 8.7 lb.ft)
