Description & Operation: Description
- The Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKPS) is a sensor that detects the engine rotation speed (rpm).
- The engine rotation speed (rpm) is the most important variable in the electronic control engine, and if the engine rotation speed signal is not input to the Engine Control Module (ECM), the engine may stop due to the CKPS signal not being input.
- The CKPS determines which stroke the current piston position is on by the target-wheel, and the target-wheel consists of 58 slots and 2 empty slots at 360 degrees of crank angle (CA).
