Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) Module: Cleaning
- Remove the ETC.
(Refer to Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) Module - "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ")
NOTE: Cleaning the ETC after removing it. - Cleanse contaminated areas inside the throttle body except for the display area.NOTE:
- Be careful not to let foreign matter inside of ETC.
- Do not spray cleaning fluid to ETC directly and use a lint free cloth moistened with throttle cleaning fluid.
- Be careful as fingers or cloth may get caught in the valve.
- Be careful not to wipe the coating liquid (displayed area) around the shaft. If the coating liquid is removed, a poor idle control may occur due to the inflow of foreign substances into the shaft inner bearing and an excessive amount of air leaking.
- Install the ETC.

- Reset the ECM adaptive values after replacing the ETC.
- Perform the ETC learning procedure.
