Spark Plug: Troubleshooting

Check the DTC code using the KDS (Refer to "DTC guide").

Check the connection status of the ignition coil connector (A).

Remove the spark plug
(Refer to Spark Plug - "Removal" )
Visual inspection of the spark plugs.
Spark plugs point gap:

0.7 - 0.8 mm (0.0275 - 0.0314 in.)

Check the resistance between the spark plug terminal (A) and probe (B)

Specifications: 2 - 20 kΩ

NOTE:

Avoid the contact resistance between probe and spark plugs.(when it occur, measured value is not sabalized.)

Be carefule not to damage center electrode while measuring resistance.

Test for changing position of each ignition coil.

Remove the spark plug and ignition coild fitted to the misfired cylinder and exchange them with one of other cylinders.

(Refer to Spark Plug - "Removal ")

Replace the spark plugs, if misfire moves along the spark plugs.
