Removal and Installation: Removal

WARNING:
  • When working on the high voltage system, the work should be performed by technicians who have completed the relevant training. A lack of understanding of the high voltage system can lead to serious accidents due to electric shock or short circuit.
  • When working on the high voltage system or related components, be sure to observe and be aware of the "HIGH VOLTAGE SYSTEM GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION AND CAUTION ". If not, it may cause serious accidents due to electric shock or short circuit.
  • When working on the high voltage system, make sure to check the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and high voltage shut-off procedure.
  1. Turn the IG OFF and disconnect the low voltage (12 V) lithium battery (+) connector (A).

    Information 

    Disconnect the connector in the engine room to shut the 12 V power off since the SG2 HEV auxiliary battery (12 V) is integrated into the high voltage battery.

  2. Disconnect the high voltage service interlock connector (A).
    WARNING: Wait more than 3 minutes for capacitor in the inverter to be discharged completely after disconnecting the high voltage service interlock connector.

    NOTE: The high voltage service interlock connector cannot be completely removed.

  3. Disconnect the Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKPS) connector (A).

  4. Separate the CKPS connector (A) from the bracket.

  5. Remove the engine room under cover (A).

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")

  6. Remove the CKPS (A) after removing the bolt.

    Tightening torque: 

    9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb.ft)
