Shift Cable: Removal

  1. Shift the gear to N.
    NOTE: Use wheel chocks to prevent vehicle moved accidentally.
  2. Remove the battery.

    (Refer to Body Electrical System - "BATTERY ")

  3. Remove the air cleaner assembly.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "AIR CLEANER ")

  4. Remove the battery tray.

    (Refer to Body Electrical System - "BATTERY ")

  5. Remove the shift cable after removing the nut (A).

  6. Remove the shift cable (A) from the bracket (B).

  7. Remove the floor console assembly.

    (Refer to Body - "FLOOR CONSOLE ASSEMBLY ")

  8. Remove the shift cable from the shift lever pin after removing the snap pin (A).

  9. Remove the cable socket (A) from the shift lever.

  10. Remove the shift cable retainer (A) after loosening the nuts (B).

    Then, remove the shift cable by pulling it toward the vehicle interior.
