Secondary Ignition Coil Wire Test
Replace secondary ignition coil wire with known good wire. Hold distributor end of secondary ignition coil wire approximately 0.25" (6 mm) from engine block, using suitable insulated pliers. See Fig 1 . Crank engine. If weak or no sparking is present, install new coil and repeat test. If sparking is present, repeat test with original secondary ignition coil wire. If sparking is present, go to ROTOR ARM TEST . If weak or no sparking is present, install a new secondary ignition coil wire. If engine still does not start, go to ROTOR ARM TEST .
