Vehicle Security System
NOTE:
Manufacturer does not provide specific instructions for synchronizing Body Control Unit (BCU) (Discovery) or Body Electrical Control Module (BECM) (Range Rover) to Engine Control Module (ECM). The remobilization code originates from the ECM. If either BCU, BECM or ECM are replaced, Land Rover TestBook/T4 must be used to input remobilization code to the BCU or BECM before ignition is turned on. Follow manufacturers instructions for synchronizing control modules.
- Remote Transmitter (Handset) Synchronization (Discovery)
If the handset fails to lock or unlock the vehicle, this may be because the coded signal transmitted by the handset, and the signal expected by the Body Control Unit (BCU) are no longer synchronized. To resynchronize the remote transmitter, position remote transmitter in close proximity to vehicle. Operate lock button of the transmitter at least four times in quick succession. Synchronization is complete.
- Remote Transmitter (Handset) Synchronization (Range Rover)
If the handset fails to lock or unlock the vehicle, this may be because the coded signal transmitted by the handset, and the signal expected by the Body Electrical Control Unit (BECU) are no longer synchronized. To resynchronize the remote transmitter, position remote transmitter in close proximity to vehicle. Operate unlock button of the transmitter once, then unlock the vehicle using the key. Synchronization is complete.
