Fuel Injectors Description

Each fuel injector (total of 8) is driven directly by the ECM.

The ECM monitors the output power stages of the injector drivers for electrical faults. See Fig 1 . A fault is detected if any of the following conditions is satisfied:

1. Fuel injector driver short circuit to B+, i.e. the driver current is greater than 2.4 Amps.
2. Fuel injector driver short circuit to GND, i.e. the driver voltage is less than 3 volts.
3. Fuel injector driver open circuit, i.e. the driver voltage is less than 5 V.
